GATSwatch is a joint project of Corporate Europe Observatory and Transnational Institute.
One of the main objectives of the GATSwatch project is research and analysis of the role and agenda of corporate lobbies with regards to the WTO GATS 2000 negotiations.
GATSwatch supports global networking against GATS through the GATSwatch web site as well as through the GATScrit mailing list. Outreach is also achieved through workshops and by active participation in strategy meetings.
The GATSwatch website was launched in January 2001. It provides links to key organisations and institutions as well as to key documents on GATS and the GATS 2000 negotiations. It is unique in bringing together the growing body of NGO and academic critique on GATS as well as official government position papers and documents of the corporate GATS proponents.

Mission: The mission of FIRE is to defend and sustain individual rights at America's increasingly repressive and partisan colleges and universities. These rights include freedom of speech, legal equality, due process, religious liberty, and sanctity of conscience -- the essential qualities of individual liberty and dignity. FIRE's core mission is to protect the unprotected and to educate the public and communities of concerned Americans about the threats to these rights on our campuses and about the means to preserve them.
